Specifications.

Midwest Thermal-Break Patio Doors have an energy saving design. These doors have a built-in polyurethane thermal-break that separates interior and exterior surfaces on the main frame and panels to cut heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Series S-1100/1125/1300/1325

Series S-2000/2025

SERIES S-1100 Sliding Glass Doors shall be S-1100, S1125, or S1150, SGD-R20 commercial certified, ANSI/AAMA 101-93. (SGD C-30 available upon request).


SERIES S-1300 Sliding Glass Doors shall be S-1300, S1325, or S1350, SGD-R20 commercial certified, ANSI/AAMA 101-93. (SGD C-30 available upon request).


GLAZING OPTIONS, S-1100/1125/1150: All doors shall be glazed with 5/8" insulated glass, using welded marine gasket, in accordance with ANSI Z-97-1 and FS DD-G-1403A.


GLAZING OPTIONS, S-1300/1325/1350: All doors shall be glazed with 3/4" insulated glass, using welded gasket, in accordance with ANSI Z-97-1 and FS DD-G-1403A.


MATERIAL:
Main frame and panel members shall be constructed of extruded aluminum alloy 6063-T5 per AAMA requirements. Exposed screw fasteners shall be stainless steel or cadmium-plated or zinc-plated per AST specification A-1 64-55 or A-1 65-55.


FRAME: The frame shall consist of a head, sill and jambs designed to be fastened with screws and sealed to form a weather tight joint.


FINISH: All exposed surfaces of all aluminum members shall be clean and free from serious blemishes. Painting shall be accomplished with an electrostatic process using a polyester baked enamel finish meeting AAMA 603.8 specifications, except frame sill shall be clear anodized.


WEATHER-STRIPPING:
Fixed meeting rail & moving panel
bottom rail shall be dual weather-stripped using a combination of silicone treated poly-pile with a polypropylene fin to meet AAMA 701-92 specifications. Fixed panel bottom rail to be dual weather-stripped specially designed vinyl equal to AAMA 702-92 specification. Frame head, jamb & versi-jamb moving panel channel dual weather-stripped with a silicone treated poly-pile meeting AAMA 701-92 specifications. Balance of fixed panel channel sealed with a specially designed vinyl equal to AAMA 702-92 specification.


HARDWARE: The pull and latch hardware shall be reversible for the OX and XO sliding panel. Tandem ball bearing roller assemblies shall be lubricated and sealed for smooth operation and meet AAMA 906.3 Specifications for Aluminum S.G.D. Roller Assemblies. Hardware tested for forced entry per ASTM F842.


INSTALLATION: Assembly & installation shall be done by others in accordance with the instructions furnished & using good standard construction practices. All mounting and assembly screws furnished with the door.

GENERAL: Sliding glass doors shall be Series S-2000/2025. Sizes and type specified on production drawings. Series S-2000/2025 complies with all residential and commercial ANSI/AAMA specifications 101-97 R-20 utilizing one-inch insulated glass. (C-30 and HC-40 available upon request.)

MATERIAL: Main frame & panel members shall be of aluminum extruded alloy 6063-T5 with a minimum wall thickness of .062 inch (with standard commercial tolerances). All frame & panel members shall be thermally insulated with a thermal break polyurethane compound chemically and mechanically bonded to the divided aluminum extrusions. Fasteners shall comply with current AAMA Section 1 Specifications. Weather-stripping shall meet or exceed AAMA 701.2 Specifications.

FINISH: All exposed surfaces of all aluminum members shall be clean and free from serious blemishes. Painting shall be accomplished with an electrostatic process using a polyester baked enamel finish meeting AAMA 603.8 specifications, except frame sill shall be clear anodized. Hard-coat finishes available.

CONSTRUCTION: Head, jamb & sill shall be coped, lapped & fastened at each corner with three #8 x 3/4" S.M.S per corner. Panel horizontal members shall be telescoped into vertical members & fastened with two S.M.S. per corner. Exterior screws shall be in accordance with ASTM F842 Forced Entry Regulations. Fixed panel shall be securely fastened to the main frame. Meeting rails shall have a 7/8" interlocking depth for rigidity & be dual weather-stripped.

SCREENS: (Optional) Available completely assembled & reversible for OX or XO operation. Finish of screen door frame shall be Bronze, White or Sandstone.
