GENERAL: Doors shall be of aluminum and high quality, as manufactured by Midwest Window & Door Corporation, Springfield, Missouri 65802.
MATERIALS: Doors shall be extruded from 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with nominal wall thickness of .050. Kickplates shall be minimum .024" thickness. Screws or other fastening devices shall be of aluminum, stainless steel, or zinc plated steel. All weather-stripping shall be virgin vinyl or dense silicone treated pile, forming a seal around the master frame and insert panels.
FINISH: Doors shall be natural mill finish, or pre-finished white, bronze, black, or sandstone. All exposed surfaces of all aluminum members shall be clean and free from serious surface blemishes. Painting shall be accomplished with an electrostatic process using thermosetting acrylic paint.
CONSTRUCTION: Master door frame material shall be hollow extruded aluminum, nominal 1" or 1-1/4" thickness. Corners shall be mitered and reinforced by heavy steel corner brackets held securely by zinc plated steel screws. Doors shall have adjustable sill expander with vinyl sweep. Doors shall be factory assembled in a secure manner, with joints accurately, smoothly, and tightly

fitted. Doors shall come prehung with Z-bar frame attached. Head Z-bar shall have integral drip cap.
HARDWARE: Doors shall have a minimum of three (3) concealed hinges with oilite bronze bushings and steel hinge pins to provide smooth operation. Doors shall be supplied with the Manufacturers standard items of hardware as follows: push button latch, all necessary installation screws and a pneumatic closer with safety chain.
INSERTS: All inserts shall be self-contained and held in door frame with latches and easily removable without any tools except S-602, S-603 and S-606. S-702, S-703 and S-706 doors shall have 2 security screws in center of full insert panels.
SCREEN: Screen cloth shall be 18x16 mesh aluminum, woven with .011" wire or equivalent and held in place by removable vinyl spline.
GLASS: Glazing shall be 1/8" tempered or acrylic safety glazing, using a wrap-around, marine or drop-in type glazing of virgin vinyl.
